The Project-Focused Resume

Accentuate your Projects

View Sample

The project-focused resume highlights not only your skills, but your ability to take an idea from vision to reality. It demonstrates your leadership, project management and organizational skills to a potential employer.

Some things to keep in mind:

--THERE ARE NO REAL GUIDELINES FOR THIS KIND OF RESUME. It's a new concept, so no resume-writing dieties or gurus have given their blessing or disapproval, much less their requirements for format, layout or suggested verbiage. Be a trail-blazer. Give it a try, and see if you get results. You won't be hunted down by the resume police and forced to use the standard chronological resume format.

--You may want to add technical skills to this resume. Your profession may warrant that type of information on your resume. You make the call.

--This sample shows two projects for a two different jobs. You may have more projects, and/or you may have more jobs to list. Ours is just a sample; do what works for you.

--If you're not getting hits (views from recruiters) on your BrilliantPeople.com profile, spend some extra time on your keywords and skills list. These are the things that recruiters use to conduct a database search. Make sure your lists are clear and complete.
